Functions and Events Manager

Cassie Ferrett - Functions & Events Manager

Cassie Ferrett grew up in the Barossa Valley with family heritage ties, and is therefore very passionate about the region.

Having worked in the customer service industry from a young age enabled her to develop a diverse range of skills and understandings of the hospitality industry. Cassie started as the dishwasher in her parents' hotel when she was 11 years old and from there moved up the ranks to kitchen hand, waitress, maître de, marketing & membership administrator at the local community club; The Clubhouse, cellar door attendant for Grant Burge Wines, and Sales & Events Coordinator at Barossa Valley Estate where her enthusiastic and professional approach to weddings and events shone through.

After graduating from Faith Lutheran Secondary School as the Girls School Captain with a tertiary entrance ranking of 93.3, Cassie moved straight to the University of South Australia to study a Bachelor of Hospitality & Tourism Management. It was only while studying at university, however, that Cassie felt that a more "hands on approach" was required and transferred to Tafe SA in the Barossa Valley to complete her Certificate 4 in Hospitality Supervision. From here, Cassie felt that developing her knowledge of the wine industry was an integral part of living in the Barossa region, and completed her Evaluate Wines (Advanced) course at Tafe SA while working as a cellar door attendant. Cassie was also a participant of the 2013 Barossa Young Ambassador Program; a program designed to help shape the future leaders of our region.

"It is so exciting to be working at Château Tanunda; a venue that combines my love of the Barossa wine industry, and my love for hospitality and organisation". Cassie is meticulous about covering every aspect of a function or event, and prides herself on her attention to details.

The role of 'Functions & Events Manager' encapsulates her personality well.
