Chateau Tanunda - New Entrance
Tuesday, November 01, 2011Excavation work has now been completed and the imposing 200 metre long driveway is now taking shape - The biscay clay base has been scraped and levelled and the gravel underlay ready to receive thousands of cobblestones.
Six palm trees have been moved into place, four at the entrance and two at the end of the driveway forming an imposing sight as you drive through the vines towards the sunken garden.
The first cobblestone was laid on Tuesday the 22nd November and in total over 1000 Square metres of basalt cobblestones are to be laid.
Architect Brenton Hann is again overseeing the project - having previously worked on the complete restoration and landscape design of Chateau Tanunda with the driveway still hoping to be completed by the end of the year.
