Jamabro Wines was invented by 6th generation grape grower, David Heinze and family. The name “Jamabro” eventuated from a combination of our childrens’ names. All of our bottle labels tell a story about our journey into this venture of winemaking, our family and some history.

We are a family owned winery, with an emphasis on producing small quantity fine wines. All grapes are sourced from our own vineyards in the Barossa Valley. David is the grape grower, winemaker, production manager, cellarhand etc., but the kid’s enjoy helping out with crushing, pump overs and pressing. Hand grape picking does not rate so highly on their interest list. Juli washes all the grape stains off the clothes and does the marketing/PR.
David’s grandpa was PT Falkenberg. The well known and respected winemaker and Proprietor of Glenview Wines near Krondorf in the Barossa Valley. As a child , David was fascinated by all the activity of his Grandpa’s winery, so beginning his own label, is genetic. Some history is worth repeating.

The current climate in the wine industry was also a factor in Jamabro’s inception, as our excess grapes were not required by the wineries we usually delivered to. David decided to waste not, want not, and turn them into our own hand made wine, for you to enjoy.
