Set upon the North eastern slopes of the Barossa Valley lies a small single vineyard of Old dry grown Shiraz, numbering only around 1000 vines. The fruit from these vines is used exclusively for the making of Gumpara Wines, Victors Old Vine Shiraz. This vineyard has been owned and operated by the Mader family for six generations.

Each year, this vineyard receives special attention, and is lovingly hand tended to produce wine of a high standard. Traditional hand pruning methods are applied coupled with careful selection of bunches each vintage to obtain optimal berry size, colour and flavour in accordance to terroir, soil type and microclimate. Controlled fermentation of grape must, gentle pressing and raxcking methods combined with individual selection of French oak wine barrels gives this wine a unique character. The wine is enhanced with the addition of 20 months of wood age and the mandatory 4 months bottle age prior to release.
