Cowra Estate Chardonnay 2007
Tasting Notes
This is a beautiful crisp and clean wine with the typical intense fruit notes of Cowra Chardonnay. Rich peach and melon flavours are complemented by a touch of butterscotch. An elegant ripe chardonnay with nice layers of fruit.
Winemaking

Harvested early in the morning, the fruit was delivered cool to the winery. Gentle pressing to minimise phenolics and cold settling preceded a long, cool fermentation averaging 14 ° C. The juice was fermented in stainless steel to capture the intense fruit aromas and aromatic flavours typical of cool climate Chardonnay.

Vineyard Notes

Cowra Estate, established in 1973, contains some of the oldestchardonnay plantings in Australia. Grapes from old vines have moredepth and intensity compared to younger vines. The mineral enrichedsoil from broken down granite over alluvial loam and the fresh waterfrom the Lachlan River allow the grapes to produce distinctive andintensive flavours. Wines from Cowra Estate regularly win awards, whichshow the consistency of our wines and our dedication to outstandingquality.
