Excellent results just in from the summer tasting at the Berlin Wine Trophy 2019 with Château Tanunda awarded 5 Gold and 1 Silver medals and retaining our status as the Best Australian Producer 2019.

The big winners were the new release 2017 vintages of the Terroirs of the Barossa Shiraz wines, with all four awarded medals for the second year in a row.

Fantastic also are the Gold medals for the new vintages of the Gulfstream Cabernet Shiraz 2018 and Matthews Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, the 4th year running of Gold for the Matthews Road Cabernet with the 2017, ’16 and ’15 vintages also winning Gold in the past.

Gold - Terroirs of the Barossa ‘Ebenezer District’ Shiraz 2017

Gold - Terroirs of the Barossa ‘Greenock’ Shiraz 2017

Gold - Terroirs of the Barossa ‘Eden Valley’ Shiraz 2017

Gold - Château Tanunda Matthews Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Gold - Gulfstream Cabernet Shiraz 2018

Silver - Terroirs of the Barossa ‘Marananga’ Shiraz 2017

In this event, over 190 expert judges tasted and rated more than 6,286 wines from 34 different countries. The OIV rules allow to award only 30% of these samples. Because of this, there are a lot of wines with a high score which cannot be awarded. For these reasons, every single medal received is outstanding and make the awarded wines so popular to the end-consumers. The next Berlin Wine Trophy Tasting will be in February 2020 where we generally have a somewhat larger presence of submissions.
