For the sixth time in the seven years, Château Tanunda has been announced 'Best Australian Producer'  with a terrific ten medals at the Berlin Wine Trophy. The show, under patronage of the OIV, the Berlin Senate and the European Union has rapidly become one of the most recognised wine shows in Europe, and around the world.

The 2016 Trophy saw Château Tanunda reinforce its reputation of quality, awarded Gold for nine wines, including for the '100 Year Old Vines' Shiraz 2014. This perpetuates the impeccable record of success for the '100 Year Old Vines' Shiraz, which has now taken out Gold medals for every vintage since 2008.

With the Geber family continuing the 125 year legacy of Château Tanunda, it is poised to achieve further great things throughout 2016 as Proprietor, John Geber, reflects

"We're thrilled to have received this award yet again given our commitment to drive the quality of our wines to the top year on year. Being recognised at an international show as Australia’s Best Producer for not one, but six out of the last seven years is a great indication that we are on the right course."

He continued:

"On our journey to be recognised amongst the best producers in the world, we are focused on unique Barossa vineyards and small batch winemaking. For example, prior to the 2016 vintage we installed more small format tanks to allow for greater attention to detail with single vineyard parcels giving them more opportunity to express their individual characters.""

"It's all about the wine, the whole wine and nothing but the wine" John said.
