Chateau Tanunda in Top 15 of 3000+ Australian Wineries
Tuesday, 19 June 2018With a 20 year marathon effort in the pursuit of excellence, Barossa Valley’s Château Tanunda has been recognised in the Top 15 Australian Wineries in Huon Hooke's The Real Review 'Awards of Excellence' 2018.
With currently 3000+ wineries in Australia, it is an amazing honour to be ranked in the top 15 overall. The success comes primarily on the consistent high reviews in the prestigious 'Old Vine Expressions', 'Terroirs of the Barossa' and 'The Everest' ranges.
With Huon Hooke known to be one of the toughest and renowned critics in Australia, Château Tanunda has consistently excelled with 32 wines ranked #1 in their category and vintage, 22 Top Value wines and 20 Gold Ribbon recipients.
The recognition is not overnight. We have worked hard over 20 years in the Barossa bringing the Chateau to life. Now with 6 of its own Barossa vineyards, support from outstanding growers and a pursuit of excellence in the winery, the Chateau has enjoyed outstanding success overseas. However, this accolade marks a clear move to the top back here in Australia.
Proprietor John Geber: “Just like the great Australian movie stars, we have played big overseas, and been recognized for years amongst the best in Australian Wine. It has been a steady marathon, delivering quality handcrafted wines over years and this is a clear sign that Chateau Tanunda is coming home.”
