Château Tanunda has been awarded the MASTER title for two of its top wines at the Global Syrah Masters 2020, placing them amongst the finest in the world!

The Old Vine Expressions is a collection of rare and collectable wines that showcase iconic Barossa Old Vine vineyards of 50, 100 and 150 years of age. Both the 100 Year Old Vines Shiraz 2017 and 50 Year Old Vines Shiraz 2017 showed their consistency at a high level after being named two of the best wines in the tasting.

The Global Syrah Masters in the UK is one of the most revered international Shiraz competitions which each year brings together the greatest Shiraz wines from around the world.

Judged by Patrick Schmitt MW and his expert team of Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers, less than ten wines from the hundreds of entries are awarded a 'Master' each year, making it one of the most highly sought after accolades internationally.

Chateau Tanunda Managing Director Michelle Geber said: "This is the who's who of Shiraz from around the world, a tough competition judged by some of the most highly trained palates in the world. We are incredibly proud of the result. Our focus is on fine winemaking and Barossa Old Vines, which has proven time and time again to produce wines at the absolute pinnacle when it comes to quality."

Earlier this year, Chief Winemaker Neville Rowe was named in the Top 100 Master Winemakers by the Drinks Business Magazine who also organise the Global Masters series.
