All about awc vienna 2011 - The largest official recognised wine show in th eworld! 9,632 wines from 1,487 producers out of 36 nations over five continents.
AWC vienna 2011 is under the patronship of the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, the Environment and Water Management of the Republic of Austria, DI Nikolaus Berlakovich, and the Mayor of Vienna, Dr. Michael Häupl, and in cooperation with the Federal Association of Viniculture, the Association of Enologists and other cooperation partners. awc vienna is an independent, objective and neutral wine challenge. The wines are tasted at the Federal College and Office of Viniculture and Pomology in Klosterneuburg in single cabins and anonymously only (blind tasting).
Wines will be rated according to the international 100 points-system.
awc vienna is the world’s largest wine valuation and the only international wine valuation in Austria which is officially approved by the European Union for the purpose of granting awards for wines!
The panel of experts of awc vienna 2011 consists of national and international oenologists, wine experts, sommeliers, gastronomers, wine traders and journalits. The prerequisite for admission as member of the panel is the attestation of an official wine tasting exam according to the Austrian Wine Law or to an equivalent international sensorical experience.
