'Chorus' Tempranillo Garnacha Graciano 2016
Tasting Notes

Lifted aromas of cherry and raspberry are accompanied by spicy, dark berry and forest fruits on the palate. The finish is long with fine-grained tannins from maturation in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barrels.

Winemaking

For this year’s blend we selected grapes Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano from a selection of vineyards across the Barossa. It is this tapestry of “terroirs” which enables us to recreate a classic Spanish blend with a unique Barossa twist.

These varietals were picked as individual parcels and blended after barrel maturation. The grapes were destemmed but not crushed in open fermenters to gently extract colour, flavour and tannin. Hand-plunging prior to careful basket-pressing have made a full-bodied wine.

It is beautifully fragrant and appealing on the nose showing blackberry, dark cherry, vanilla, olive and assorted nut characters, leading to a flavoursome palate that is succulent and lingering. The wine offers lovely fruit weight and intensity, finishing splendidly long and attractive. At its best: now to 2024.
