Château Tanunda Dahlitz Merlot 2015
Fruit for the Dahlitz Merlot comes from a single vineyard at the heart of the Barossa Valley’s Tanunda sub-region. The grapes were grown by Barossa Vigneron of the Year 2013 Sam Dahlitz.
The grapes are destemmed, but not crushed, and spend seven days on their skins in open fermenters.During fermentation, it is hand-plunged twice daily before careful basket-pressing to gently extract colour, flavour and tannin.
Displays lifted aromas of blueberry and plum supported by juicy dark berry fruits and chocolate on the palate. The extensive finish is framed by elegant, fine-grained tannins from fifteen months’ maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels.
