Grand Barossa Dry Riesling 2017
Tasting Notes

GRAND BAROSSA Riesling draws from the Barossa region’s Germanic history. Barossa (often known as being synonymous with Shiraz) is once again turning heads for its exceptional Riesling. Refreshing, dry and displaying all the delicacy, elegance and finesse of this noble variety.

The body of this wine comes from 90 year old vines, adding to the complexity and depth of flavour.

GRAND BAROSSA Riesling is subtle yellow in color, displaying delicate lifted aromas of lime blossom and citrus fruits. Lemon, lime and hints of passion fruit are in abundance. The palate is focused, pure and linear with a delicious juicy finish. Elegant and intense with a touch of minerality and refreshing acidity.

Winemaking

Picked in the cool of the night to preserve freshness, we combine both traditional and modern winemaking techniques to make handcrafted wines of complexity, depth and intensity.

On the brighter fruitier side compared to the previous vintage, this likable dry Riesling offers up tangerine, lemon-lime, and stone-fruit notes on both the nose and on the juicy tangy palate. This would be a tasty poolside sipper as well as a decent palate cleanser at the start of the meal.

Reliably one of the better Barossa floor rieslings and another good release here. It's out of the blocks with a rush of lime juice and lemon butter on the bouquet, fresh at the moment but some lovely bottle aged characters are waiting in the wings. Quite soft and fullish on the palate as expected, but well tuned acidity stands it in good stead for now or later. Drink By 2025
