Grand Barossa Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2021
Tasting Notes

Lifted aromas of blackberry, black cherry and raspberry are accompanied by spicy, dark berry fruits and white pepper on the medium bodied palate.

The finish is long with fine grained tannins from maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French and American barrels. Enjoy now or cellar carefully for up to eight years from vintage.

Winemaking

For our Grand Barossa Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre we select grapes grown throughout the Barossa. It is this tapestry of ‘terroirs’ which enables us to create this classic blend in our refined house style.

By combining  both traditional and modern winemaking techniques we are able to make handcrafted wines of complexity, depth and intensity.

Sweetly ripe and fabulously enticing, the bouquet shows dark plum, mulberry, hazelnut, cocoa and warm spice aromas, followed by a supple palate that's juicy and lingering. Harmonious and deliciously drinkable. At its best: now to 2029

Medium deep crimson. Intense dark plum, blackberry pastille, raspberry, hint ginger/ spice aromas. Abundant/ buoyant dark and red berry fruits, lovely velvety fine textures, hint vanilla/roasted hazelnut/ liquorice notes, mid-palate fleshiness and fine lacy/ vibrant  acidity. Finishes soft and minerally. A delicious fruit driven style. Best to drink soon.

A pretty little GSM that shows oodles of ginger spice and sweet fruit in the red plum/cherry spectrum. Abundant exotic spice and hints of cola, red frogs, pressed flowers, gingerbread, earth and red licorice. At the lighter end of medium bodied, gentle on the tannin, bright acidity and plenty of appeal in the glass.

A classic Barossa blend that absolutely nails the style in every way. Notes of blackberry and cherry with a little dried herb-like spices. The palate is soft and supple while displaying generous fruit character. It’s received a decent hit of oak using a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak. The creamy American oak adds nicely to the balance and flavour mix. Cellar up to 8 years.

This is proper Barossan : GSM, 14.9 percent, a circumflex, a grave, it’s got the lot and it’s hot, so get it while you can. Actually it’s hot because it’s 14.9 per cent, but nothing a big chunk of red meat couldn’t deal with.
