The resulting Shiraz is full of soft, dark cherry fruit with rich notes of dark chocolate and subtle oak. The palate is textured and layered, with the dark berry fruit aromas again coming to the fore. The palate has a long plush, elegant finish.
This heritage release wine comes from Barossa old vines of at least 35 years in age. Their worthiness has been proven over many vintages, consistently producing fruit for wines of distinction and longevity.
It is handcrafted in small open fermenters and basket pressed before 18 months’ maturation in French and American oak barrels. The wine displays classic Barossa Shiraz characters of rich dark berry fruits, plum, black forest cake and sweet spice. Enjoy now or cellar carefully for up to 10 years.
