Tasting Notes

Lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry and black pepper supported by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate. The extensive finish is framed by elegant, fine-grained from eighteen months’ maturation in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barriques and hogsheads.

Black fruit, coffee, coconut and vanilla, lavender perfume and chocolate. Full bodied, smooth glycerol feel in the mouth, with a spicy nougat and blackberry flavour all dipped in chocolate for come-hither Barossa seduction. Acidity is neatly threaded, though pulses a little on the finish, and the length is excellent. Crowd pleasing Barossa Shiraz with a little more finesse than usual. Very good.

From Blocks 11 and 15 of the estate's Bethany vineyard, first planted in '60. The two blocks were picked separately, the fermentation process the same as for the Terroirs of the Barossa wines, oak maturation 18 months. The fruit flavours are slightly sweeter and more spicy, the palate medium-bodied.
