The Château Old Cooperage Shiraz Mataro 2010
Sold Out
Tasting Notes

The original Château Tanunda Cooperage was responsible for hand crafting the most important component of wine maturation - the Barrel. The Château Cooperage was established by a family member of the AP John family - Christian Paul John and the family business which is still in operation to this day, still playing an integral part in the maturation of Château Tanunda wines by supplying the Château with barrels.

In homage to this long standing association it was also felt we should use some of the original grape varieties which would have been around in the 1890’s. A backbone of Shiraz has been chosen but the real inspiration and unique power of the blend lies with the Mataro.
