The Chateau Single Vineyard Grenache
Tasting Notes

This Grenache is hand-picked from select rows of the Hueppauff (pronounced ‘hip-off’) family vineyard neighbouring the Château Tanunda estate.

Partial whole-bunch fermentation is followed by gentle basket pressing and 12 months maturation in seasoned French oak puncheons.

Raspberry, red currant and white pepper spice aromas lead to enticing darker fruit and cherry. Medium-bodied with delicate tannin and crunchy acidity culminate in a long seamless finish.

SUITABLE FOR VEGANS AND VEGETARIANS

A new single vineyard Grenache under ‘The Chateau’ series in the large repertoire of Chateau Tanunda’s wines. Fermentation is a mix of carbonic maceration, whole bunches, and destemmed fruit. Sounds like a recipe for Grenache.

Full of raspberries straightaway, sweet red apple skins, dust of sweet spice, lots of juiciness and chalky tannin, infused with dark chocolate and burnt caramel, all done well, translucent and sloshy, soft sweet start building structure towards the end. Slightly gamey finish, with dried meat chewiness, salami and the like. It’s a Barossa Grenache alright.
