Tasting Notes

This is a medium bodied wine with aromas of strawberries, cherries and subtle spice. The palate is well balanced and highlights lifted flavours of vanilla, cinnamon, black olives and pepper. A vibrant and fresh wine with a long soft finish.

Winemaking

The Whole Dam Family celebrates the historic relationship between Chateau Tanunda, the Barossa Valley and its generations of grape growers and winemakers who love nothing more than to let their hair down and kick up their heels.

For this limited release wine we selected The Whole Dam Family of meridional French varieties: Shiraz (41%) from Stonewell, Grenache (24%) from Tanunda, Mouvedre (22%) from Bethany and Greenock, Carignan (7%) and Cinsault (6%) from Vine Vale.

The grapes were picked, fermented and matured separately spending nine months in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barrels.

A 39/33/22/13/3% blend from four districts across the Barossa Valley; separately fermented and matured for 9 months in new and used French and American oak prior to blending. A very powerful fullbodied palate with a thumping, emphatic finish. Quo vadis! Needs years (pray for the cork).
