The Whole Dam Family 2017
Tasting Notes

This is a medium bodied wine with aromas of strawberries, cherries and subtle spice. The palate is well balanced and highlights lifted flavours of vanilla, cinnamon, black olives and pepper.

A vibrant and fresh wine with a long soft finish.

Winemaking

The Whole Dam Family celebrates the historic relationship between Chateau Tanunda, the Barossa Valley and its generations of grape growers and winemakers who love nothing more than to let their hair down and kick up their heels.

The old image on the front label of the local winemakers dressed up celebrating the Barossa Vintage festival is a tribute to this tradition.

This limited release is a selection of the The Whole Dam Family of  French varieties that thrive in the Barossa climate: Grenache, Shiraz, Cinsault, Carignan and Mourvedre

The grapes were picked, fermented and matured separately spending nine months in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barrels.

Medium to deep red colour with faint tinges of purple and brick-red. The bouquet is intense and bright, with peppermint and oak, and sweetly ripe blackberries. The wine is firm and intense, and fills the mouth. Concentration. The core of the wine has a lovely plush lushness followed by firming tannins. Delicious. Drink 2020-2032
