The Whole Dam Family 2021
Tasting Notes

Delicious aromas of red berries, vanilla and exotic spice. The palate is medium-bodied with lifted flavours of blueberries, plums, cinnamon, white pepper and olive tapenade.

A vibrant and fresh wine with a long soft finish.

Winemaking

The Whole Dam Family celebrates the historic relationship between Chateau Tanunda, the Barossa Valley and its generations of grape growers and winemakers who love nothing more than to let their hair down and kick up their heels.

The old image on the front label of the local winemakers dressed up celebrating the Barossa Vintage festival is a tribute to this tradition.

This limited release is a selection of the The Whole Dam Family of  French varieties that thrive in the Barossa climate: Grenache (58%), Mourvedre (20%), Shiraz (13%), Counoise (5%) and Carignan (4%).

The grapes were picked, fermented and matured separately spending nine months in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barrels.

Only 400 dozen produced.

Medium deep crimson. Raspberry, red currant, red plum aromas with hints of marzipan/ aniseed. Gentle raspberry pastille, redcurrant, herb garden flavours, fine lacy/ chalky, hint graphite textures, some mid-palate viscosity and underlying savoury notes. Drink now – 2026
